Drift helps people fall asleep faster and stay asleep longer. Eleven seamless sleep sounds, a sleep timer that fades out gently, and a calm night sky interface that stays out of the way at 2am.

White noise, rain, ocean, stream and fan for everyone, plus thunder, forest, night, fire, wind and cafe with Premium.
Sleep timer
Fade out after 15 minutes, 30 minutes, 1 hour, or 2 hours, so audio does not run all night.
Plays with the screen locked
Background audio keeps going when the phone sleeps, all night if you want it to.
Works offline
Every sound ships inside the app. No streaming, no buffering, no signal needed.
Built for the dark
A deep night sky design, plus a sleep mode that dims the screen so it will not light up the room or wake a partner.
Premium
Unlocks all eleven sounds and removes ads. New subscribers get a free week, and any locked sound can be previewed first.
Under the hood
How we built it.
Designed, engineered, and launched end to end by Graysmith Labs. Everything here is available to client projects too.
- Seamless background audio. iOS background audio mode with loops tuned so there is no audible gap or click at the seam.
- Expo and React Native. Expo SDK 54, React Native 0.81, and Reanimated 4, written in strict TypeScript.
- Subscriptions and ads. RevenueCat for the Premium subscription and Google AdMob for the free tier.
- Shipped and iterated. Released in February 2026 and updated steadily since, now on version 1.18.

Email ramsey@graysmithlabs.com and a real person replies, usually within a day. Read the Drift privacy policy.
- Restore Premium. Open Drift, tap Settings, then Go Premium, then Restore purchases. Use the same Apple ID you subscribed with.
- Cancel or change your plan. Open the Settings app on your iPhone, tap your name, then Subscriptions, then Drift.
- Sound stops when the screen locks. Check that the ring switch is not muting media and that Low Power Mode is off, then play the sound again.
- Turn the bedtime reminder on or off. In Drift, tap Settings, then Nightly reminder. If it will not turn on, allow notifications for Drift in the Settings app.
- I had every sound before. Anyone who installed Drift before version 1.18 keeps all eleven sounds for free.
